Michael Kahn’s name has certainly become synonymous with his dramatic sepia-toned images of sailboats and the water. He has frequently been called the “Ansel Adams of maritime photography.”
A new hardcover book has just been released, The Spirit of Sailing: A Celebration of Sea and Sail featuring over 80 of Kahn’s exquisite photographs. It has been a very popular gift item and is now available at the gallery for $20.
On a personal note, I enjoyed looking through Michaels book, feasting my eyes on his beautiful images and reading the wonderful poetry and writings by all the literary artists who wrote about sailing and the sea with such wisdom and emotion.
