Show Statement
'Painting the Light' features Tim Bell's oil paintings around the Chesapeake Bay. His paintings are bold and energetic. You can feel the wing blowing, the boats rocking and see the atmosphere of that day at that moment.
Tim's paintings are recording the history of the Bay. He knows where the last of the skipjacks and their workboat 'kin' are harbored. He knows the waterman who work on them and they know him. Tim says he thinks he has explored almost all of the old wooden docks around the Bay. He has done paintings from many of them.
He likes painting in South County too. There isn't really a 'South County,' it's southern Anne Arundel County, but locals know what you mean. Some of the farms have cattle and you can see rolling countryside, empty tobacco barns, horses grazing on the hills, a few unpaved roads... It's another world down there...for now.
One of the paintings in the show is of a pole barn in 'South County.' He likely knows the farmer and knows the story of that old pole barn. Come meet Tim Bell and enjoy the paintings!
