I often hear artists speak of painters they admire and thought it would be interesting to build a show around that idea.

Each One Invites One is a show with a unique twist. We asked 5 McBride Gallery artists to each invite 5 artists they admired and respected who had not exhibited at the gallery. Sam Robinson invited Lisa Mitchell, a pastel artist from Maryland. Paula Waterman invited James Coe, an oil painter from New York. Louis Escobedo invited Leslie Belloso, an oil painter from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Ed Hatch invited Gary Brookins, an oil painter from Virginia. Terry Miller invited Cindy House, a pastel artist from New Hampshire. This is a very brief introduction for 10 very impressive painters. I hope the sampling of show paintings on this page will entice you to come see their work in person.

Actually, at the Panel Discussion on March 20th you will hear more. At 2:00pm on Sunday at the opening reception, the guest artists will be introduced by their hosts.  They will share with gallery patrons what they admire most, whether composition and design, drawing skills, mood, or use of color.  Audience participation is always welcome.  I hope it will be educational, and informative and at the end of the panel discussion, perhaps we will look at the exhibition with new ‘eyes’ and appreciate the paintings from a new perspective.
