Havana was an artist's dream;
a treasure of dilapidated elegance and the people were as colorful and charming as the country. It was a joy to paint their portraits.

Our week in Cuba was only enough time to get a first impression, but I was fascinated with the relationship of Cubans with the sea, which feeds them, challenges them, transports them. Both of these forts date to the 17th century. While many of the small fishing boats haven't changed much in 50 years, all of Cuba wonders what challenges are coming over the horizon or growing from within. Lisa Egeli
