The Young Impressionists: 5 Years LaterExhibition June 8 - June 22, 2008In June 2003 McBride Gallery introduced three young painters in a show titled "The Young Impressionists." It caught the imagination of collectors and the news media and was a great success. These young painters were interviewed (see link below) on their opinions, hopes and dreams. Now, five years later, the influences on them have changed; and they have grown and matured as painters. |

Exhibit: “The Young Impressionists: 5 Years Later” The American Impressionist movement is alive and well in Annapolis as a growing contingent of painters have embraced this style of painting. The ‘Young Impressionists’ first presented their paintings in 2003 in a highly regarded exhibit and will present their recent work to include figurative, still lifes, landscapes and marine paintings from the Chesapeake Bay to Cape Cod and paintings from travels abroad - with a salute to the changes in their style and techniques in 5 years. In 2004 all three artists were juried into “Sunlight and Shadow” at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. The exhibit was presented in conjunction with an exhibit of the Bucks County Pennsylvania Impressionists. The public was invited to compare early Pennsylvania Impressionist paintings with the current generation of working Mid-Atlantic Impressionist painters. McBride Gallery is pleased to present this important exhibition for three 'young' Impressionist painters. |
