Roy Thompsen

Roy Thompsen was born in Brooklyn, New York and educated at the Pratt Institute and Brooklyn College. Now living in Massachusetts, he paints full time, exhibiting in galleries and shows all across the United States. His work is in numerous corporate and private collections.

Roy paints in both acrylic and watercolor. Wildlife are a favorite subject matter, especially Canadian Geese, which he portrays with both personality and a flair for the dramatic. He is drawn to those subjects that lend themselves to a strong design characteristic with rich and/or contrasting colors such as the geese with their long black curved necks often shown twined.

Roy Thompsen has published over 40 limited edition prints of his most popular images. He is now working on a series of African animals, a Snow Leopard in pen and ink and a triptych of African Elephants, to be in l992.

McBride Gallery is pleased to represent this talented wildlife artist.
