Lili Anne Lauren
“I am always in awe of nature’s quiet majesty, which inspires me to paint scenes that convey the sense of tranquility I feel when I am surrounded by the natural beauty and sounds of nature.
It is the impetus for my creativity and an important objective for me is to create in my paintings the same sense of enjoyment and peacefulness I felt when painting them.”

Lili Anne Lauren
Painting has been a lifelong passion for Laurin who spent her early years honing her drawing and painting skills with Canadian Watercolorist Helmut Gerth. She explored other mediums while studying for a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Concordia University in Montreal where she was born. After moving to New Jersey with her husband and young son, she drove into N.Y every Saturday for two years to study anatomy/ life drawing with Michael Burban and figure/portrait painting with Joseph Peller at the Art Students’ League of N.Y.
As an artist there is always something to learn about one’s craft and I’m fascinated by other artists’ techniques and vision. I avail myself of every opportunity to take workshops with master artists from around the country.
Lili’s paintings have received local and national recognition and her work and painting techniques have been published in International Artists Magazine, American Art Review, as well as in the art instruction series 100 Ways to Paint Landscapes. She received a “Jury’s Top Sixty” award at the Salon International 2010 and her work was juried into and sold at the CM Russell Auction. She received an Award of Excellence and Jury’s Top Sixty for her painting “Pastoral Longhorn” at the 2013 Salon International. Her work was recently juried into the OPA Eastern Regional Show at McBride Gallery in Annapolis, MD.
As an avid plein air painter she has pursued a more direct approach to painting. Laurin’s paintings reflect her many years of thoughtful observations and love of nature and she has developed a loyal collector base.
Lili is a member of the New Jersey Society of Plein Air Painters, the Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionist Society, as well as the American Society of Marine Artists.
