Denise Dumont

Denise Dumont is a painter who, from early on, has been drawn to the landscapes and cityscapes of the Atlantic Coast. Dumont earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Parsons School of Design in New York City in 1984 and studied also at the School of Visual Arts. She has won awards for landscape painting from the Biggs Museum of American Art in Delaware and from juried competitions in both Annapolis and Easton, Maryland.

Born in New York City, Dumont maintained dual careers in the Arts and the financial services industry there until 2004. Settling in Delaware, she is inspired today by her Chesapeake and Delaware Bay surroundings as well as by her favorite urban and rural destinations in New York, New England and France.

Ms. Dumont enjoys working directly from life and paints often outdoors in the plein air tradition. Awarded top honors from a number of juried competitions, she exhibits regularly and is affiliated with several Fine Art galleries and artist associations. Ms. Dumont's patrons include regional public institutions and private collectors throughout the country.

"I've put a million miles on the paintbrush over the years as the saying goes and am enjoying my journey along the next million."

Denise Dumont’s paintings are inspired by the shores of the Chesapeake Bay and Delaware Bay and by the places she’s come to know along the New England coast. Cynthia McBride, said "Our collectors love the fresh painterly quality of Denise Dumont's work that transports them visually into the scene."
